The world class Fairmont Bab Al Bahr Hotel in Abu Dhabi, U.A.E. is a hotel like none other; it combines beautiful contemporary architecture with a level of hospitality that certainly lives up to the Fairmont name.

Upon entering the grand foyer, visitors are greeted with a stunning interior design featuring a free-form color changing ceiling back-lit with GVA Lighting’s PixeLED™ color changing LED pixel luminaire. The ceiling is created using a Barrisol membrane stretched over a curving frame structure. Above the Barrisol ceiling are more than 900 PixeLED™ fixtures.  Each PixeLED™ fixture can each change to any color, via DMX control, either individually or as a group to create a dynamically changing colored ceiling. The refractive properties of the Barrisol blend the light from each fixture perfectly to create a surface uniformly saturated in color where no individual point source of light is discernable.
